Academic & Artistic Profile
Aikaterini Christina (Ikonomu) is an artist whose manifesto is "digital to physical." She operates within the digital realm, working with digital sculpture (3D sculpting), photogrammetry, and digital scanning, translating these into physical form through 3D printing. Her work gives rise to hybrids, chimeras, and techno-utopian worlds, examining technospirituality as an entity of the contemporary era—sometimes seeking to escape the material world, other times integrating elements from the worlds she creates or delving deeper into our reality.
Ikonomu is a graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA) and holds an MFA. She has also completed academic programs at the Kunstakademie Münster in Germany and the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti in Turin. She was a speaker at the Conference & Art Exhibition “MELLON” at the Eugenides Foundation and has published work with the Meta-I-dolls women’s art collective in the scientific journal Days of Art. She was awarded for a group project at the Pan-Hellenic Conference on Digital Heritage - EuroMed 2021 for best research work and has exhibited in venues such as Costa Navarino and RUNDGANG Münster.
